As you may or may not know, the pages of water-data.com including our busiest pages such as the Lake Powell Water Database, the Snowpack Above Lake Powell Database and the Water-Data.com Photos upload site, are among the busiest Lake Powell / Colorado River related websites in the world.
In 2007, the pages of water-data.com received over 2.43 million page views and over 1.022 million unique visits. This is up dramatically from the 1.82 million page views and 873K visitors in 2006.

Much like the river, traffic to the Water DBs spike up in the spring & early summer and slowly declines until the following March. Our estimates for 2008 is that we will have 2.8 million page views and over 1.1 million unique visits to the various water-data.com sites and like the river, most of traffic flow is coming up in the next few months.
What We Deliver
Every Monday morning, you will receive an email of your weekly traffic report. This report, click here to view sample report, will detail the number of times your ad(s) were viewed, the number of times users clicked on your ad and were transferred to your site, the click to view ratio, your numbers vs all ads on our site, and your viewed and clicked numbers for each day of the past week.
We can display up to 10 ads at a time. These ads appear on the left side of the page starting just below the banner graphic.
In the world of advertising real estate on water-data.com, the top left corner is the most valuable and value declines as you move downward. Since all of ads are in a skyscraper format (ie. vertically aligned) positions 2 through 5 will be less desirable than the previous number but are still valuable. How it works and what it costs
Our Advertising Engine is quite sophisticated and we track all pertinent information about your advertisement. When it was displayed, what page it was on, who requested the page, etc. To advertise on the water-data.com sites, we have a per click pricing model. Thanks to Google, this is pretty much standard in advertising on the web these days. We can limit your ad to certain pages or your ad can show up on all the pages.
Price per Click
Today, most websites offer a price per click billing because of the fact those that click on your ad are far more likely to have a geniune interest in your products than someone just browsing the site. Once they reach your site, they can learn more about your products and services and a sale can be just moments away.
We have moved away from a per impression pricing but will offer it in certain cases. Based on last years experiences, we feel that it is not as good of a value for you, our customers, as the per click pricing model.
Auction Style Pricing
Something we allow that few other sites do is for you to customize your pricing. Perhaps you want to take advantage of the rush of traffic that will be hitting the site through the spring and early summer, you can essentially bid up your pricing and our ad engine will insure your ad is displayed more often than the others. Perhaps you want to keep a presence on the site but reduce your advertising expenses, you can cut how much you pay (by impression or click) and our software will slow the rate your ad shows up. You can stop or start you ad at anytime and you have TOTAL CONTROL of your advertising dollar on our sites.
** Click Fraud **
This is a subject we take extremely seriously. We are constantly reviewing the clicks your ads receive. We have several different methods to identify these questionable / fraudulent clicks. Once we feel a click is questionable, we will issue an immediate credit. We also have code that identifies repeat offenders and a credit is given any time these visitors click on an ad, regardless if the click is legitimate. In the first week of April alone, we identified over 145 questionable clicks and credited our advertiser's accounts accordingly. You will never pay for a click that even remotely appears to be questionable. Your trust and our integrity are far too important to risk.
